Our purpose is to unite the country and help those suffering and in need... we are ready to do our part to ...ask what we can do for the country.
ABOUT OUR CHALLENGE
THE ASK NOT CHALLENGE is a 2017 National Challenge designed to get a diverse group of successful people throughout our country working together to bring help to people who are suffering due to catastrophic situation.
The Ask Not Challenge was launched on 2-7-2017 by Dr. Matt Zerebny.
Our daughter, Palm Springs Police Officer Lesley Zerebny
Our Lesley had just returned from maternity leave with our beautiful 4 month old grand daughter Cora Rayne, when she was shot & killed in the line of duty.
To say we are heartbroken and devastated beyond words is an understatement.
Our family continues to wake up in the middle of a excruciating nightmare. We bounce between indescribable sorrow and grief and overwhelming gratitude for the outpouring of love towards our family.
Especially precious to us has been the support of the First Responder Community and Families from around the country and around the world.
LA County Sheriff alone sent 5,000 deputies to Officer Jose Gilbert "Gil" Vega and Lesley's memorial service in Palm Springs. There was over 18,000 people who attended their memorial.
I personally have been racking my brain as to how I could support other families who are going through the same horrific nightmare.
In some southern states in our country, the Law Enforcement Officers only make minimum wage, work 2-3 jobs, and have no benefits at all. This is unimaginable in our country which is the wealthiest country in the world.
It is unimaginable to be going through the horrific grief that we are and then on top of that be in financial dire straits and run the risk of losing your house because your spouse or parent had been
killed in the line of duty and now have no money to raise your kids and could lose your home. These families have one nightmare stacked on top of another nightmare. The first one is already unbearable!!!
I had decided that I cannot let this happen and I have to do something about it, so we have started the Cora Rayne Collection, a clothing company named after our grand-daughter, where 100% of the profits goes to families of fallen first responders killed in the line of duty... families who are going through the same unfathomable tragedy as our family.
"My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
